I am a physicist.
I'm also a teacher.
I am a mother - to Lethlet, now 14.
I'm a bit of a crafter; I'll try anything, but mainly I'm a knitter. My crafty blog is here.
And I am now a designer, I have stores on ravelry and folksy. For convenience, I have details here.
The name - Lethandrel is a contraction of Lethandriel, an elf character I RPGed a lot in the 80s. When I joined the Interweb via AOL in the 90s, Lethandriel was one character too long so I lost the 'i'. The name stuck.
I suffer from bipolar affective disorder type 2 (which means I suffer from what I call neurotic depression). Some days are better than others.
I like Physics, it has a beauty in simple elegance and patterns. Many people do not see that beauty, either they see complicated equations and formulae or they find the leap to the abstract concepts just too far. This is where I can come in.
I have a knack, or a gift, for metaphor (though I won't inflict my teenage poetry on you). I like to think I'm a bit Dirac-ian in keeping things uncomplicated (or may be I'm just laconic). The 'Physics Page' on this website which might just help to illuminate some concepts; it's an ongoing project and there's not a great deal there at the moment especially as I'm presently knitting. Bear with me, Physics will cycle round again.
Welcome, feel free to look around.
